Wireless Transformation

Platform-Neutral Wireless Surveys and AP Deployments

Our network enhancement service guides organisations through wireless modernization using a comprehensive three-phase process: Assessment & Design, Build & Ship, and Deployment, executed globally to offer a unified vendor solution. We deliver an end-to-end service, from conducting wireless site surveys (coverage heatmaps) and optimising wireless architecture designs, to installing new cabling and access points (APs) with validation surveys.

Our vendor-agnostic approach ensures we remain aligned with your objectives and budget, free from ties to specific manufacturers. This flexibility allows you to selectively utilise necessary service components, effectively managing costs.

Wireless Network Refresh Service

Evaluation & Design

  • This initial phase involves conducting comprehensive wireless site surveys and analysis to assess the existing state of your wireless network. This process enables us to formulate an optimization roadmap, whether we’re refreshing an existing setup or implementing a new site.

Deployment Preparation

  • Following finalisation of the design and hardware procurement, our global logistics team establishes secure staging areas. Here, our network Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) build and pre-configure devices according to your project specifications. Subsequently, we arrange direct shipment to the installation site.

Deployment

  • Utilising our extensive network of global field engineers, deploying wireless hardware stands as one of our fundamental strengths. As part of our deployment procedure, we conduct post-validation surveys to ensure adherence to design specifications.

Tailored Solutions

If a full-scale wireless network overhaul isn’t your current priority, our Wireless Services can cater to various project requirements, including new office or warehouse deployments, WLAN security assessments, troubleshooting user connectivity and WLAN performance issues, and optimising existing wireless setups.

A Validation Survey, commonly known as a Passive Survey, assesses current wireless coverage and performance, making it the most prevalent type of wireless survey. During this survey, the client passively listens to all Wi-Fi traffic across channels within the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, analysing:

      • Wi-Fi signal strengths
      • Noise levels
      • Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR)
      • Co-channel interference
      • Channel overlap
      • Rogue devices

A Planner Survey, also known as a Predictive Survey, utilises simulation tools to model the RF environment. Accurate environmental data such as facility construction types, heights, and obstacles like walls and large objects are crucial inputs for these surveys. Predictive surveys aim to optimise AP placements and plan appropriate channel allocations to mitigate issues such as channel overlap, interference, and roaming:

      • Utilisation of popular AP models and antennas
      • Configuration of bands and channels
      • Adjustment of power settings, heights, and angles
      • Identification of attenuation zones and wall types
      • Mapping of saturated coverage areas

This method assesses the propagation of RF signals from specified Access Points (APs). It involves placing an AP physically at predetermined locations within an office, warehouse, or facility to measure its performance. This iterative process ensures:

      • Determination of ideal AP placement positions
      • Verification of coverage in all required areas with sufficient signal strength and SNR
      • Confirmation of adequate coverage overlap for seamless client roaming
      • Validation of real-world AP performance

An RF Spectrum Analysis identifies and addresses non-WLAN sources of interference that degrade WLAN performance. Utilising specialised antennas and software, this analysis detects, identifies, and locates sources of RF interference, including various non-WLAN devices.

      • Real-Time Fast Fourier Transform (FFT): Offers a real-time view of RF signal levels.
      • Spectrum Density: Provides a long-term perspective of the network to identify infrequent transmissions.
      • Spectrogram: Displays a scrolling history of the RF environment, revealing intermittent spikes or bursts of RF energy that might be causing WLAN issues.
      • Interference Power: Shows average power readings of interfering devices on selected channels.
